Google has confirmed that Philadelphia is the next test market for Google Home Services Ads. They will be testing 30-40 companies, reaching out to them directly. These companies are all well-recognized and trusted in their market.

Google has said the Home Services ads will launch in Philadelphia by late June, and the sole focus for now are plumbing professionals. One of our clients was the very first plumbing business in this market to be contacted by Google. As Premier Partners, we help make sure you’re a trusted business, giving Google all the more reason to reach out to you when they expand to other home service industries.

Google has been partnering with local businesses in California to display Home Service ads for relevant queries.

Businesses include handymen, locksmiths, plumbers, electricians, and other home service providers. The ads are displayed in search results in a swipeable carousel featuring a map of the service area.

Currently only available in California, the service is expanding nationwide by the end of 2017, and Philadelphia has been called upon to be the next test market for these home service ads. Still, participating businesses are required to undergo a background check, retain the proper licenses and insurance, and face undercover shoppers. Once a business in Philadelphia has passed these screenings, then they can partner with Google.

Users can leave reviews, make a call, or place requests directly to the business right from the search results page.

Plus, for more exposure, companies that partner with Google will see a “Google guaranteed” tag presented under their brand name. This tag lets consumers know that the company is backed by the Google guarantee where any job is guaranteed to be done right or your money back.

Home Service ads are invite only, and Google has begun reaching out to businesses in the greater Philadelphia area. Stay tuned for further updates surrounding this news.
