Everywhere we look, social media is present. Whether you’re waiting at a train station and see an advertisement with social media icons on it or you are simply searching for your favorite clothing brand on Google and the first result is their Facebook page — it is everywhere. As a business owner, it is a no-brainer to have an online presence through social media. But here is the catch, are you strategizing and posting properly? Here’s a few tips to get you started on the right path!
Know your audience
As you build your audience, you will begin to learn who they are and what they want to see. Using various tools, you can see how each post performs. Perhaps you notice when you post an engaging photo with quality content that you receive more engagement, rather than when you share a URL by itself. You want to engage your audience at all times. It is logical to make the most of each post.
Always give credit where it is deserved.
One way to keep your audience engaged is to post industry related topics. When sharing a blog, photo or post from someone or something other than yourself, you should always give them the credit. Never steal others work. For an example, you find an insightful article you feel your audience would enjoy. When you go to share the article, mention or tag the author. Giving proper attributions and credit seems like it would be common knowledge, but many companies do not do this. This is what we call stealing.
Keep your content fresh and engaging
If you haven’t noticed, it’s important to keep your audience engaged. By posting fresh regular content, your audience will continually come back for more. Saying this, you want to have a well-rounded subject matter each post. If you continually discuss the same topic or sell your product, your engagement may drop. For an example, you could post about various topics, such as industry related news, light hearted funny posts, company related topics or upcoming events.
Social media will help boost your online presence. Utilizing it properly will help your business grow. Always remember to post regularly, be engaging and have fun!
