In Philadelphia, the phrase “trust the process” has been thrown around frequently.

That’s ever since Sam Hinkie became the GM and the team continued to tank as they ended up with lottery picks in four consecutive seasons. It started with a trade of All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday on draft night in 2013.

Thus, the process began. Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, Jahlil Okafor, and Ben Simmons. All lottery picks taken by Sam Hinkie’s 76ers. Trades occurred, free agents were signed, and the process was underway.

Four years and plenty of injuries later, we’re finally looking like Hinkie’s catchphrase is coming to fruition.
